Ira J. "Red" Moses

Ira J. "Red" Moses, age 82, of rural Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:10am at the Galion Community Hospital, Galion, Ohio.

He was born on September 5, 1932 in Little Sandusky, Ohio, to Charles Ira and June A.(Swihart) Moses, both of whom are deceased. He married Ruth Traxler on June 9, 1956 and she passed away on November 12, 2009.

Red is survived by a son, Terry (Diana Maria) Moses of Westerville, Ohio, a daughter, Lorrine (Gary) Evans of Colleyville, Texas, grandson Theodore Evans of Colleyville, and companion, Helen Jury of Upper Sandusky.

He is also survived by 2 brothers, William L."Bill" (Charlene) Moses of Harpster, Daniel Moses of Taos, New Mexico, a sister, Patricia (Fred) Wilkes of Harpster.

Red was a 1950 graduate of Harpster High School and after graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. He then worked in the Quality Control Department for ITT in Galion and retired from there after 29 years.

He attended Harpster United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Galion American Legion Post #243. For hobbies Red enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and wood carving.

Funeral services for Ira J. "Red" Moses will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at
The Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Joe Sopher officiating. Burial will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.

Visitations will be held on Friday, March 6, from 6pm to 8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
