Ila M. Mccombs

Ila M. McCombs, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday evening, December 11, 2020 at the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

Ila was born on March 3, 1932 in Marion to Herman and Cecelia Thew, both of whom are deceased. She married Richard McCombs on November 19, 1950 and he passed away on January 18, 2013.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra (John) Best of Tiffin, and Nancy Shackelford of Upper Sandusky.  9 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren also survive, along with a brother in law, Nelson Summit of Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Ron, and 2 daughters, Carol and Karen.

Ila enjoyed spending her summers with her husband at Lake Erie.   For hobbies she enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles.  Her greatest joy was her family, where she loved to spend time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ila M. McCombs will be at 1:00pm Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 2 hours before service time on Thursday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
