Ida Marie Sloat

Ida Marie Sloat, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky.

Marie was born on November 7, 1934 in Marseilles, Ohio, to Lawrence and Edna (Carruthers) Arnold, both of whom are deceased. She married Robert Sloat on December 18, 1954, and he passed away on July 26, 2007.

She is survived by her children: LeAnne (John) Lehnhart of Port Isabel, Texas, AnnaLe Sloat of Burbank, California, and Matthew (Megan) Sloat of Plain City, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren: William Lehnhart, Anna Marie (Craig Davis) Lehnhart, Ella Sloat, Catherine Sloat, and Madeline Sloat, and two great -grandchildren: Stevie and Rudie Davis.

Marie is also survived by her sister, Edith (Thomas) Wagner of Kirby, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, two brothers: James and Robert Arnold, and a sister, Maeola McClain.

Marie was a homemaker and also was a nurse’s aide for many years at the former Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky.

Funeral services for Ida Marie Sloat will be private with burial taking place at Old Mission Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wyandot County Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels, and/or Wyandot County Fair and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
