Henry D. Vent

Henry D. Vent, 86, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Nevada, Ohio died Monday
October 1, 2007 in Bradenton.

He was born on April 23, 1921 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Otto and Lucia (Hollett) Vent, both of whom are deceased.

He married B. Eleanor Cole on July 4, 1944 in Tiro, Ohio and she died March 1, 1995.

Surviving is a son Richard and his wife Becky, Vent of Crestline, Ohio, and a daughter Virginia "Gini" and her husband Tom, Eingle of Ruskin, Florida.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren along with 2 sisters, Julia Kissling of Nevada and Muriel Brown of Seattle, Washington.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister Faythe Vent.

Henry retired from GE Lamp in Bucyrus after 17 years. Before that he worked for Vent Body Shop along with his father, Otto, and for the former Crow Motor Sales in the body shop.

He was a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church for many years. He belonged to the Nevada Grange and was an advisor for 4-H. He belonged to the American Chinchilla and Rabbit Association and the Iris Society. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and playing his musical saw and harmonica.

Henry graduated from Nevada High School in 1939 and then served with the1466th Army Air Force in World War II.

Funeral Services for Henry D. Vent will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 5 in the Nevada Lutheran Church in Nevada. The Rev. Robert Hamilton will be the clergy.
Friends may call from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
