Henry A. Bils, age 82, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:05pm at the Marion General Hospital.

Henry was born on June 18, 1939 in Findlay, Ohio, to George and Evelyn (Lodge) Bils.  He was married to Nancy Kay Workman on May 23, 1964 and she passed away in 1979.  He then married Ann (Rowse) Beard on February 27, 1988 and she passed away on February 11, 2021.

He is survived by four children, Laura (Craig) Troxel of Harpster, and Susan (Kelly) Best, Arlington, Ohio,  Bryan (Shari) Beard, of Delaware, Ohio, Amy (Bryan) Tucker, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, Seven grandchildren, Kylie Troxel, Jacob Best, and Hunter Troxel, who preceded him in death, Blaine Tucker, Aleigh Beard, Adryanna Tucker, Bradyn Tucker.  Along with a sister, Judy Wheeler of Upper Sandusky.

Henry was a 1957 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to serve in the US Army during 1959 to 1962.

Upon returning home, Henry continued as the 3rd generation in farming the Bils family.  He also did photography with his business, Classic Photo and also worked at Folks Printing in Marion, along with Mini Row Farms, which provided produce for sale at farmers markets.

He was a lifelong and devoted member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.  Along with being a former member of the Knights of Columbus, in Marion and Upper Sandusky.

Henry also served as a board member with the Farm Service Agency, member of the Farm Bureau Council, and the Wyandot County Water Conservation Board.

He enjoyed gardening, mowing and collecting his Cub Cadets, doing photography.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic church with Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. officiating.  Burial will then follow at St. Peter's Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 7, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration of the Lord, St. Peter's School, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or The Wounded Warriors Project, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH  43351.
