Helen A. Hare

Helen A. Hare, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away
on August 1, 2014 at 1:00am at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on November 25, 1933 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Russell B. and Carrie S. (Strub) Hare, both of whom are deceased.

Helen is survived by a brother Leo E. Hare of Bucyrus, Ohio, and four nieces, Janet (David) Wobser, Pamela Shull, Nancy Book and Deborah Hare, along with three nephews, John R. Frederick, Dennis Hare and Michael (Gayle) Gillespie, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Frederick, and Martha Gillespie, a brother Dwight D. Hare, a niece Carol Ann Watt and a nephew, Robert L. Gottfried.

Helen graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1952 and soon after graduating she went to work for Kroger's Grocery Store. She then worked as a machine operator with the former Bond Plastics of Upper Sandusky, from which she
retired after 26 years.

She was a long time member of Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies, Helen enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, watching and feeding the birds, and watching sports, especially the Indians, Browns and the Buckeyes.


Funeral services for Helen A. Hare will be held at 11:00am Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Community Christian Center, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Monday, August 4, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church, which is located at 10657 Twp. Hwy. 122, Upper Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or Wyandot County Humane Society and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
