Harry L. Young

Harry L. Young, age 85, of rural Bucyrus, Ohio
passed away Thursday, November 06, 2008 at 12:30am at
his residence.

Harry was born on January 21, 1923 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to
Earl and Nora (Blankenship) Young, both of whom are deceased.

He was once married to Joann (Lantz) Young, who is living in Nevada.

Also surviving are his 4 daughters: Rosie Oberlander of Nevada; Anita and her husband Tom, DiFrieze of Findlay; Chris and her husband Greg, Palmer of Nevada and Tooter Wright of Nevada. Along with a grandson, D.J. Bollinger.

Harry is also survived by 3 brothers; Clyde Young of Nevada; Richard Young of Tiro and Clifford Young of Bucyrus. And special friends, Dean and Rose Butler and family along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Herb, Coy and Otheil and a son in law, Richard Oberlander.

Harry retired from Bucyrus Blades after over 35 years. Before that he co-owned and operated HBT Garage where he did auto repairs in Nevada and also had worked at the Crawford Nursery. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army in the GO 33 and 40 WD in Northern France and Rhineland. He was also a former member of the Nevada Fire Department.

For hobbies he enjoyed gardening, especially raising turnips, mushroom hunting in Michigan, playing euchre, and helping friends and family. He also enjoyed making apple pie.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00pm, Monday, November 10 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Following the services there will be a reception at the Nevada Fire Hall.

Visitations will be on Monday, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral
Home in Nevada. Please note that there will be a Military Service at 1:45pm on Monday at the funeral home conducted by the Upper Sandusky Service Organizations.
