Harold Alban Myers

Harold A. Myers, age 95, of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Sycamore, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 6:10pm at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Harold was born on September 28, 1923 in Antrim Township, Wyandot County, OH., to Jay Maxwell and Nellie Mae (Alban) Myers.  He married Virgia Harbour on March 6, 1945 in San Diego, CA., and she passed away on May 11, 1984.

He is survived by his loving companion of more than 30 years, Marjorie Blair of Upper Sandusky, by his son, Gregory (Shanon) Myers of Newland, NC, and Marjorie's daughter, Melanie (Ted) Blair-Dillion of Cincinnati.  4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive, along with a sister, Betty Farrow of Nevada.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Gary Myers, and a brother, Paul Myers.

He was a 1942 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to serve his country during World War II in the Navy as a LST operator and instructor.

Harold retired after more than 40 years of work with Galion Iron Works.

For hobbies, Harold was quite a woodworking craftsman creating many beautiful pieces.  He also enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid OSU, Brown, and Indian fan.

Funeral services for Harold A. Myers will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time, 10:00am to 11:00am, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
