H. Milton "Milt" Snodgrass

H. Milton "Milt" Snodgrass, age 83, of rural Nevada, Ohio passed away early in the morning on Friday June 11, 2010 at his home.

Milton was born in Eden Township - Wyandot County, Ohio on May 14, 1927 to William Arthur and Inez Mae (Rech) Snodgrass both of whom are deceased. He married Bonnie DeTray on June 14, 1948 in Greenup Kentucky and she survives in Nevada.

Surviving Milt are two sons, Randal H. (Yoko) Snodgrass of Nevada, and Christopher Lee of Nevada, two daughters Susan "Jill" (Jerry) Baker of Fayetteville, North Caroline, Linda Lee (Robert) Thomson of Port Clinton, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Scott Snodgrass, Steven Snodgrass, Jay Baker and Tiffany Ewing along with nine great grandchildren.

He is also survived by one brother Larry (Janet) Snodgrass Nevada and a sister Doris Johnson of Bucyrus, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by a grandchild Joel Baker, two brothers George Snodgrass, Richard Snodgrass and a sister Maxine Jacobs.

Milt worked for over 37 years for the former Ohio Power - AEP as an area supervisor. For hobbies he enjoyed farming, operating the maple syrup farm, and restoring antique tractors.

Milt was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church, The Nevada Lions Club where he was past president, the Nevada American Legion #462, the Masonic Lodge #343 in Nevada and a former member for 15 years of the Wyandot County Sheriff Mounted Deputies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a graduate of the Nevada High School in 1945.

Funeral Services for Milton will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with the Rev. Matt Garrabrant officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Ohio.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio .
