Glenn E. Bower, age 82, of Harpster, Ohio died Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00am at his home in Harpster.

Glenn was born in Wyandot County on December 12, 1925, to Matt and Josie (Humes) Bower both of whom are deceased. He married Mary Kathryn Bridge on February 10, 1945 in Harpster and she survives.

Also surviving are 3 children. Linda K. Fox of Morral, Ohio, Cynthia and her husband Harold, Newman of Morral and Dave and his wife Val, Bower of Harpster.

Glenn is survived by five grandchildren, Brian Bower, Brooke (Andy) Schroeder, Brandy (Andy) Fields, Jeff (Wendy)Fox and John(Daunitta) Oates. And there is also 5 great grandchildren, Josh and Cole Oates, Bailey Fox and Shawn and Stacey Russell. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and long time friend, Bill Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Asa, Willis and Dale along with 5 sisters, Florence Snyder, Fern Barth, Pauline Bland, Mary Motter and Beatrice Bower who died in infancy.

Glenn retired from Wyandot Dolomite in Carey and before that he had worked for Tecumseh Products in Marion. He was a veteran of WWII where he had served in the Navy.

He was a long time member of the Harpster United Methodist Church. Glenn also was a member of the William Naus VFW Post #2842 and the Amvets #777 with both located in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies he enjoyed watching sports, hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. And spending time with his family.

Funeral Services for Glenn E. Bower will be held 11:00am Monday, January 21 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Jackie Underhill will be officiating. Burial will be at Little Sandusky Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the local service organizations.

Visitations will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harpster United Methodist Church or Hospice of Wyandot County and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 South Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky OH 43351
