Gertrude M. Brandt

Gertrude M. Brandt, age 85, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013
at 7:03pm at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Her death was unexpected.

Gertrude was born on August 2, 1927 in London Ontario, Canada to Frederick and Mary (Percy) Youmans, both of whom are deceased. She married Robert K. Brandt on October 20, 1944 in Cardington, Ohio by Rev. Prescott, and Robert survives in Nevada.

She is also survived by 2 children, Stephen (Barbara) Brandt of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and Sylvia (Terry) Crall of Bucyrus. 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Evan) Maughan, Matthew (Christine) Crall, Henry (Crystal) Crall, David (Alaina) Crall, Pamela (Tim) Eilbes, and Michael (Amy) Brandt and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son James, and 2 brothers, David Youmans and one who died at infancy.

Gertrude was a homemaker and had previously worked at General Electric and the Timken Company, both in Bucyrus.

She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, when it was located in Nevada, and in the class of 1945 in the Nevada High School.

For hobbies, Gertrude was an avid reader had a love for animals, whether it was her cats or watching and feeding the birds around her home. She and Robert enjoyed spending their winters in Rockport, Texas, where they enjoyed fishing and bird watching.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Nevada Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Grose officiating.

Following the services at the cemetery, family and friends are invited
to the Community Room of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky for lunch
and fellowship.
