Gerald D. Logan, 80, died at his residence at 5:18pm on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Gerald was born March 31st, 1945 in Nevada, Ohio. He was the son of Otto and Esther Logan.
Gerald was a 1963 graduate from Nevada Highschool. He retired after 47yrs from Dayco Swan in Bucyrus, Ohio. He is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters, Daniel (Janice) Logan of Port Clinton, Greg (Dorothy) Connors of Galion, Misty Logan of Sandusky, and Gina (Jason) Zender of Sycamore ; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother Donald Logan.
Gerald lived a simple life and loved to stay busy. In his younger days, he hot rodded his cars and drag raced his friends. He cruised the streets of many surroundings town, "raising hell."
As time progressed in his life, he spent his extra time building, restoring, and painting automobiles for himself and friends. When his children were young, he spent his days on Lake Erie in his wooden boat fishing, and at his summer home at Castaway in Marblehead, Ohio. He had so much fun at the lake. Wherever Gerald was, you could plan on a good time.
Later in life after retirement, he spent many Saturdays, taking his friends and grandkids, fishing at local reservoirs and Killdeer plains. When he wasn't fishing, he drove his grandkids to school and practices. He made delicious wines and spirits that he generously shared with anyone. For his grandchildren, he made special batches of strawberry jelly, from his garden that he took pride in. He also took pride in his boat, his yard, his home, and his vehicles.
Gerald devoted his life to having a good time and spending his years showing his family and friends his love for them.
Gerald is irreplaceable and is already sorely missed. He left a void in the hearts of the people that loved him.
A graveside service for Gerald Logan will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday July 19, at Nevada Cemetery, and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Sturgeon. The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service, at the cemetery, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
