Gerald A. "Jack" Russell

Gerald A. "Jack" Russell Sr., age 70, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio
died Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at 4:39pm in the Emergency Room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Jack was born on June 9, 1938 to Evelyn Russell who is deceased. He married Patricia Stansbery on September 29, 1970 in Carey, Ohio and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He is also survived by three sons, Gerald A. "Jerry" Russell Jr. of California, George "Ed" (Erin) Cunningham of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and John (Sarah) Cunningham of East Quoque, New York, and 5 daughters, Teresa Russell of Carey, Christine (Bill) Mercer of Findlay, Karen (Bobby) Turner of Carey, Cyndi (Leo) Pappas of Kure Beach, North Carolina, and Sherri (Chris) Gottfried of Bucyrus. 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and a daughter, Bobbi Lea Russell.

Jack was employed for over 30 years with Todco Overhead Doors as a production manager. Before that he had worked for Wyatt Construction in Carey.

He was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Carey and was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School.

For hobbies, Jack enjoyed in his earlier years, camping, fishing and hunting. And he will be remembered for his work ethic and his passion for witnessing and praying for others in need.


A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Gerald A. "Jack" Russell, Sr. will be held at 2:30pm Sunday, May 10, at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Carey, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating.

There will be a time of fellowship after services for family and friends at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or to Gideons International and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
