Gerald "Jerry" G. Ekleberry

Gerald "Jerry" G. Ekleberry, age 99, of Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 8:20am at Heartland of Bucyrus.

He was born on June 10, 1915 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Fred K. and Anna (Twa) Ekleberry, both of whom are deceased. He has been married for 75 years to Virginia (Kotterman) Ekleberry, who survives in Bucyrus.

Jerry is also survived by 2 sons; Lary (Marie) Ekleberry of Nevada, and Gary (Alice) Ekleberry of Bucyrus. 5 grandchildren, Cindi (Glen) Welsh, Cathy (Tim) Miller, Steve (Sharon) Ekleberry, Jerald (Angie) Raypole, and Zendra Raypole, and 24 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, and 3 great great great grandchildren also survive. Along with a sister in law, Mary Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Raypole, a granddaughter, Jessie Marie Ekleberry, 4 brothers, Virgil, Robert, Kenneth and Fred Ekleberry, and 3 sisters, Luella Green, Rosamond Porter, and Beulah Pilliod.

Jerry retired after 25 years as the plant manager of Ekleberry Poultry in Bucyrus, and before that he had farmed in the Nevada area.

Jerry was a member for over 65 years of Emanuel United Church of Christ in rural Upper Sandusky. For hobbies he enjoyed traveling with his wife Virginia, all throughout the United States. He also enjoyed working outside, especially doing his yardwork.

Graveside services for Gerald "Jerry" G. Ekleberry will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday,
April 1, 2015 at the Nevada Cemetery with Pastor Jay Scott officiating.
