Freddy Bryant

Freddy Bryant, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at home.

Freddy was born in Ross County, Ohio, on May 5, 1935, to Rufus and Martha (Lewis) Bryant and they preceded him in death. Freddy married Nancy Melton on August 11, 1962, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Freddy is also survived by his two sons Joey and David Bryant, both of Upper Sandusky, a daughter Martha Frey of Tennessee, 5 grandchildren, Ashley Frey, Crystal Bolinger, Amanda Frey, Christina Frey, and Trevor McDaniel, 4 great grandchildren, Carter, Wyatt, Austin, and Aynslee, and his sister Mary (Dale) Sprang of Upper Sandusky.

Freddy was preceded in death by his 2 sisters Nora Shaffer, Rosey Riedel, and a brother Grover Bryant.

Freddy served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and an additional 17 years in the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from Swan Rubber in Bucyrus after 40 years of service.

Freddy was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Upper Sandusky, and of the former American Legion of Nevada. Freddy loved cooking, crossword puzzles, and he especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral for Freddy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by Pastor Herman Bucklew, Jr. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery where the Upper Sandusky Color Guard will conduct military rites.

Visitations will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home
