Frank D. "Howard" Pryor, age 76, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
Frank was born on June 4, 1931 in Wyandot County to Maurice Fleet and Nellie Dell (James) Pryor, both of whom are deceased. He married Shirley Parsell on January 15, 1955 in Hardin County and she survives.
Also surviving are 5 sons; Michael, Bruce, Jeff and Scott Pryor all of Upper Sandusky and Ken Pryor of Sycamore, Ohio, and a daughter, Wanda Hoenicke of Upper Sandusky. 19 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren along with a brother Joe Pryor of Marion also survive.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Lewis, Clarence and 2 infant brothers, Clifford and Charles. Along with 6 sisters, Thelma Swihart, Lilly Krites, Myrtle VanHorn, Ardenna Chance, Lucille Stansbery and Betty Laughrey.
Frank worked for 27 years for Engineered Wire Products in Upper Sandusky as a wire drawer helper. Before that he had worked for Reiser's Fruit Farm and Freezer Queen, both located in Wyandot County. He was a veteran having served in the US Army.
For hobbies he enjoyed hunting squirrel, playing softball, doing word puzzles, following the Browns and the Reds and his boxer pup, "Pugs".
Funeral services for Frank D. Pryor will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 23 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Graveside rites conducted by the various service organization in Upper Sandusky.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 22, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Heart Support Group or Wyandot Co. Home Health and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
