Evelyn M. King

Evelyn M. King, age 95, of Bucyrus, and formerly of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at 9:54pm At the Carlisle Place, Bucyrus, Ohio.

Evelyn was born on November 1, 1921 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Theodore and Minnie (Tracht) Guthman, both of whom are deceased.  She married Clayton King on July 16, 1940 and he passed away on July 5, 1997.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Barbara (Donald) Orewiler of Bucyrus, and Linda (Arthur) Smith of Litchfield, Connecticut.  Four grandchildren, Lori (Dale) Rowe of Upper Sandusky, Chad (LouAnn)  Cover of Bucyrus,  Corey (Monica)  Orewiler of Bucyrus, Gretchen Orewiler of Bucyrus, and 4 great grandchildren, Hollie Wheeler, Lucas Rowe, Clayton Cover and Nicole Cover, along with 3 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a son in law, Ronald Cover of Bucyrus.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Sandra Cover, and a brother, Paul Guthman.

She was a graduate of Bucyrus High School Class of 1939, and a member since 1941 of the Nevada Lutheran Church, where she was an active serving in many capacities with in the church including financial secretary for many years.

Evelyn was also in the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Nevada Volunteer Fire Department, and the Progressive Mother's Club.

For hobbies she enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family.

Funeral services for Evelyn King will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Nevada Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Nilsen officiating.  Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, and 1 hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the church
