After a hard fought battle with cancer Eugene went to God on Monday, December 1, 2025 from his home in Upper Sandusky.

He graduated in 1967 from Upper Sandusky High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He married Sheila Wells on June 12, 1971, and they enjoyed 54 years together. In addition to farming, Eugene worked in the maintenance department of Guardian Industries for 31 years. He also owned his own business for ten years rustproofing cars and trucks and installing sunroofs and slider pick up windows.
Surviving Eugene in addition to his wife are their children, Celeste Ashbrook, and Chad (Kim) Roszman, both of Upper Sandusky. Their grandchildren, Nadia (Nathan Ozier) English, Levi Ashbrook, Chelby Roszman, and Kassey Roszman, all of Upper Sandusky. Their step-grandchildren are Ryan Jarvis of Wyoming, and Carolyn (Jake Patrick) of Marion.
He is also survived by a sister, Jane Dunn of Upper Sandusky, and a brother Dennis (Thia) Roszman of LaRue.
Preceding his in death beside his parents, was a sister, Nancy Lahr.
Eugene enjoyed driving the tractor, working in the yard, and swinging on the back porch. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and professional golf and cherished any time he could spend with family. Gene and Sheila took a cruise to Alaska to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
