Ethard E. Ard, age 90, of Nevada, died Thursday, July 3 at 10:15am at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

Ethard was born on October 28, 1917 in Faubush, Kentucky to Marshal and Ethel (McGehan) Ard. He later married Montie L. Stephens August 29, 1935 in Monticello, Kentucky and she survives.

Also surviving is a daughter Janice and her husband Don, Cook of Nevada. 5 Grandchildren: Kenneth Prince of Bucyrus; Susan Barb of Marion, Kathy Prince of Nevada, Mark Cramer of Lexington, NC., Monica Leibengood of Nevada, and 9 great grandchildren.

Ethard is survived by a brother Terril (Dorothy) Ard of Nevada, and 2 sisters, Ruth Johnson of Bucyrus and Maxine Johnson of Faubush, KY.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Barbara Prince and Doris Jean Prince, and 4 sisters; Catherine Vanhoosier, Thelma Neeley, Eller Berdine, Dorothy Foster.

Ethard was employed by Swan Hose in Bucyrus for over 26 years. Before that he had worked for Koehler Dairy Farm and Walton's Farm both in Wyandot County. He attended Nevada Methodist Church and was a member of the Wyandot County Coon Hunters Club. He enjoyed gardening along with hunting and fishing as hobbies.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Monday, July 7 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada. The Rev. Kenneth Kinner will be officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be on Sunday, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Donor's Choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 401 S. Main, PO Box 98, Nevada, OH 44849.
