Eric L. Shackleford

Eric Shackleford, age 45, of Upper Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, on December 7, 2024, as a result of a car accident.

Eric was born on April 28, 1979, in Upper Sandusky, to Vantoy Shackleford Sr. and Nancy McCombs-Ulrich.

Eric is survived by son Holden Nance, of Mt. Vernon, his father, Vantoy Shackleford Sr. of Tazwell, TN, step father Todd Ulrich of Upper Sandusky, step brothers Joshuea Todd (Jess) Shackleford of Arcadia, Vantoy (Connie) Shackleford Jr. of Colorado, along with several cousins and many friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother Nancy McCombs-Ulrich.

Eric graduated from Upper Sandusky High School and then served in the United States Navy. Eric recently started his own construction company Al Square Construction. Eric previously worked with Peterson Construction.

Eric was a very outgoing person that never met a stranger. He was a very loving and caring individual. He loved riding motorcycles, and he loved working construction – he was a perfectionist.

Visitations for Eric will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A service will be held following the visitations at 7:00 pm and will be officiated by Pastor Richard Bates.

A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, at a later date.
