Elma M. Ringelman

February 28, 1933 — June 30, 2012

Elma M. Ringelman, age 79, of Marion, Ohio and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:36pm at the Kingston Residence of Marion.

She was born on February 28, 1933 in Upper Sandusky to Floyd and Esther (Horn) Bear. Elma was first married to Joseph K. Malo, and then married Ralph E. Ringelman on October 19, 1978 in Upper Sandusky and he died on December 21, 2004.

Surviving is a daughter, Caribe (Kevin) Browne of Austin, Texas, a son Steven (Carol) Malo of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and a step daughter Jill (Steven) Christopher of Forest.
Twelve grandchildren Hailee Browne, Zachary Browne, Julie Cowan, Lisa Lockwood, Keri Malo, Sarah Stall, Michael Malo, Amber Tarpley, Micah Malo, Savannah Christopher, Sarah Christopher and Noah Christopher and fifteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Also surviving is a sister, Sally(Tony) Burke of Allbrightsville, Pa.

Elma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Joseph and Ralph, a son, Joseph K. Malo and a sister Betty Blair.

Elma retired from Fairhaven Retirement and Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky where she worked for many years as a LPN. Before that she was employed at the Smith Clinic in Marion. She also owned and operated Elma's Attic where she bought and sold antiques
in Upper Sandusky.

She was of the catholic faith and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marion and also
Transfiguration of our Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Elma enjoyed traveling, music and reading.


A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father JR Hadnagy, O.F.M. Conv. officiating. Burial will
follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.

There will be a reception following the service for family and friends at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home Community Room in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration of the Lord, St. Mary's Catholic Church or Our Lady of Consolation in Carey and they can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
