Elzabeth Gay Newman

Elizabeth Gay Newman, age 73, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio
passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 4:07am at the
Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Gay was born in Elliot County, Kentucky on April 30, 1936 to Cletus V. and Tennie M. (Goodin) Mabry, both of whom are deceased.

She married John E. Newman on March 31, 1965 in Mansfield, Ohio and he died October 20, 1999.

Gay is survived by 3 daughters, Marge Sink of Upper Sandusky, Jodi (Jeff) Barth of West Milton, Ohio, and Liz (Barry Harmond) Newman of Upper Sandusky. Four sons, David McDaniel of Upper Sandusky, Ed (Kim) Newman of Upper Sandusky, Jeff (Patti) Newman of Upper Sandusky and John R. "Sam" (Kim) Newman of Upper Sandusky. Grandchildren, Allen Schwilk, Chad Schwilk, Whittney Barth, Heather Newman, Megan Newman, Eric Newman, Jacob Newman, Lindsay McDaniel, Noah Barth, Logan Seals, Levi Tracy, Sarah Adelsperger, Will Adelsperger, Andy Baker, Gabriel Baker and Katie Baker. And 4 great grandchildren, Lexi, Madison and Abigail Schwilk and Lily Augustus.

Also surviving are 2 brothers, Jayo Mabry and Gene Mabry both of Mansfield, and 4 sisters, Betty Turner of Lexington, KY, June (Dempsy) McDaniel of Elliot, KY, Rosie (Darrell) Bender of Mansfield, and Toby (George) McDonald of Kingston, Tennessee.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Richard Mabry and a sister Garlene Kiser.

Gay was a homemaker and also had worked Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky for 32 years as a nurse's assistant and in housekeeping.

For hobbies, she enjoyed going to garage sales, raising flowers and
socializing with friends and family.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Gay Newman will be Monday, February 15, at 10:30am at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home
in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating.
Burial will follow in Little Sandusky Cemetery.

Visitations will be Sunday, February 14, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
