Eleanor E. Campbell

Eleanor Elizabeth Campbell of rural Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 6:00am at The Inn at Orchard Park in Bucyrus.

Eleanor was born in Wyandot County, Ohio on April 10, 1918 to Lawrence Walter and Martha Merneva (McLaughlin) Snavely both of whom are deceased.

Eleanor graduated from Nevada High School in 1936. She married Dalton Campbell on May 23, 1936 in her parents' home by the Rev. Knox Roberts who was pastor of the Nevada Lutheran Church. Dalton passed away on October 19, 1976.

Eleanor is survived by three children Norman L. (Caroline) Campbell of rural Nevada, Janice A. (Jerry) Kottyan of Bucyrus, and Melanie S. (Jerry) Daiber of rural Nevada, eight grandchildren, Tammy (Kottyan) Schifer, Trisha (Kottyan) Williams, Doug and Bryan Campbell, Ben and Nick Fadley, Beth (Campbell) Cotsmire and Brenda (Campbell) Mutchler, two step grandchildren: Julie (Daiber) McNamara and Jason Daiber, twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Maxine Rank and a brother David Snavely.

Eleanor was a homemaker and lived at 2791 Spore Brandywine road for 57 years having moved there in November of 1952. She loved making noodles for her family and friends and working in her garden.

Eleanor was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus for 70 years where she taught Sunday School in the primary department, served on various church committees and was a member of the following clubs and organizations, AELC Women's Organization, the Naomi Circle, the Holmes - Liberty Study Club, The Nevada Stitch and Chatter Club, Bucyrus Golden Agers and Bucyrus Travel Club, Bucyrus Historical Society and was a Red Cross Volunteer Gray Lady for 19 years.

A Celebration of Life Service for Eleanor E. Campbell will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus with the Rev. Hap Hasenauer officiating the services. Burial will follow at a later date in Nevada Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am on April 7, 2012 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus.
