Elaine R. Bolyard

Elaine was born to Harry and Marie (Dodge) Hicks, Sr. on May 8, 1919 in Conneaut, Ohio. She graduated from Conneaut High School in 1937 and went on to Kent State University and graduated in 1941 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.

She married Alan W. Bolyard and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Ruth and her husband Seth, Stevens of Amherst, Ohio and Sylvia and her husband Donald, Eger of Pottersville, New York. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Timothy Eger, Heather Eger, Allison (Stevens) Kraft and Seth Eric Stevens.
One Brother Harry Hicks Jr. of Puyallup, Washington also survives.

Elaine was an elementary education teacher. She had also worked as
a Physical Therapist at the Betty Jane Clinic in Tiffin & the Medical Clinic in Marion, Ohio. Elaine also served as part of the WAC and WAAC in the US Army in the Medical Specialist Corps during World War II. She also served at Angeline Center and with Wyandot County Home Health Agency.

Elaine once attended the Little Sandusky Bible Church and more recently had
attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.
She was a member the Usando Literary Club and the UpSan Mothers League, and member of the Board of Wyandot County Home Health Agency.

For hobbies, Elaine enjoyed gardening and genealogy.

Services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday June 27, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Officiating will be Dr. William Beausay, Sr. and Rev. David Roach. Visitations will be held 1 hour prior to service time. Burial with full military honors will be held after the service at Old Mission Cemetery.
