Edwin W. Pool

Edwin W. Pool, age 79, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:05pm at the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Ed was born on August 13, 1936 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Lewis and Doris (Kramer) Pool, both of whom are deceased. He was first married to Shirley McClain and they were divorced. He then married Dorothy (Johncox) Chatfield on January 27, 1973 at Wesley Chapel UMC in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

He is survived by his children: John (Jan) Pool of Upper Sandusky, Curtis (Norma) Chatfield of Forest, Jesse Chatfield of Bucyrus, Missy (George) Frey of Upper Sandusky, Terry Chatfield of Upper Sandusky, and Colleen (Dan) Clark of Greer, South Carolina. 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Ed is also survived by a brother, Roy Pool of Upper Sandusky, and 2 sisters, Carolyn "Carol" Bare of Upper Sandusky, Ethel Bishop of Madison, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Donald and Jody Pool, and a brother, Alfred Pool, and 2 sisters, Mary Louise Snyder, Esther Merwine, and a daughter in law, Pam Chatfield.

Ed worked for 38 years for the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, and farmed. He also
worked along with his wife Dorothy, with D & E Cakes in Upper Sandusky.

He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies, Ed enjoyed gardening, working with his honey bees, making wine, hunting, trapping and fishing, putting up his purple Martin houses around the home, and tinkering with his farm equipment.

Funeral services for Edwin W. Pool will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Rick Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
