Eugene Claugus

Edward Eugene Claugus, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Carey, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Eugene was born on June 5, 1955 to Audrey Hayden and Donnalee (Downs) Claugus, both of whom are deceased.

He is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Claugus of Toledo, and 2 sisters, Lindalee Claugus of Toledo, and Donna Smalley of Upper Sandusky.

Eugene graduated from Carey High School in 1975 and went on to work for many years as a custodian for Christ Lutheran Church in Carey. While living in Upper Sandusky, he attended the Apostolic Gospel Church and Trinity Evangelical Church.

Eugene enjoyed reading and learning about Ohio history and also trains.

A private graveside service for Eugene Claugus will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey, with  Pastor Jim Stauffer officiating.
