Edna Jean Boyer

Edna Jean Boyer, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 9:55pm at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Edna was born on December 27, 1933 in Washington, DC to Henry and Joyce (Bedore) Burks, both of whom are deceased.  She was once married to Donald Moore, Thomas Nutter, and Paul Boyer.

She is survived by 3 sons: Douglas (Joann) Dible of Richwood, Ohio, Gary Nutter of Upper Sandusky, James (Tami) Nutter of Upper Sandusky, and a daughter,  Tina (Philip) Burnside of Kenton. 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, along with 4 great great grandchildren.

Edna is also survived by 3 sisters: Martha "Betty" Shinkle of Zanesville, Betty Kay (Don) Ward of Sycamore, and 2 brothers, Robert "Nick" Ruby of Malvern, Pennsylvania, Wilson "Jack" Moore of Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Bev Kuhn, 4 sisters, Alice Burks, Helen Robertson, Shirley Smith and Carolyn Leeth, and brother William Ruby Jr.

Edna enjoyed life and had many passions, such as being outside and taking walks, feeding the deer and cats, mushroom hunting with family and friends. She enjoyed doing her plastic canvas crafts, and puzzles.  Also she enjoyed playing cards and bingo, reading, watching movies, and going to garage sales.She enjoyed her birds, Freddie and Baby, and watching Tika and Colt.  She loved having flowers, and collected her bird houses and teddy bears. She also enjoyed following her Cincinnati Reds and was a follower of Dale Jr., and liked sipping on her margaritas.

She will be remembered for her love of family and she loved spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services for Edna Boyer will be held on 11:00am Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Douglas Dible officiating.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or Hospice of Wyandot County, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
