Edna P. Abbott

Edna P. Abbott, age 93, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 02, 2014
at 7:20am in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Edna was born on January 2, 1921 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to Everett and Rebecca (Hook) Armstrong. She married George A. Abbott on October 18, 1937 in Ironton,
Ohio, and he died July 29, 1968.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary E. Paynter of Cooper City, Florida, Audrey (Ron) Ault of Galion, and Velma Potts of Nevada. Along with 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Edna is also survived by 3 sisters, Juanita Easter of Nevada, and Shirley Armstrong and Jean Godair both of Florida and 2 brothers, James Armstrong of Upper Sandusky, and George Armstrong of Wheelersburg, Ohio. And 3 daughter in laws, Cathy Abbott of Upper Sandusky, Delores Abbott of Marion and Susan Abbott of Mascott, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, George D., Roger, and William Abbott, and a son in law Raymond Potts. Along with 4 brothers, Carl, Homer, David and Robert Armstrong and a sister Eileen Howell.

She was a homemaker and also worked at the former Millington Plastics in Upper Sandusky and Tecumseh Products in Marion.

For hobbies Edna enjoyed cooking, tending to her garden and apple trees, and reading. She also loved her family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Edna P. Abbott will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, with the Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Monday, May 5, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
