Earl W. Stumpp

Earl W. Stumpp, age 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 7:55PM at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio.

Earl was born on December 31, 1922 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Elmer and Ruby (Inman) Stumpp both of whom are deceased. He married Ruth Evelyn Hensel on July 13, 1946 in Greenup, Kentucky and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Also surviving Earl are three daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Ellis of Orrville, Ohio, Rhonda (David) Allenick of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Kathie (Keith) Barga of Sylvania, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Jeffery (Barb) Ellis, James (Kim) Ellis, Brian Allenick, Rachel Allenick, Garrett (Brynn) Barga, Stephanie (Paul) Landis and Gregory (FiancAC.: Michelle Young) Barga, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Bernice Jewell of Thermal, California.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frederick Stumpp, Walter Stumpp and Elmer Stumpp Jr., and two sisters, Lucille Ratliff and Mary Watson.

Earl served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then went on to work at Tri-County Lime & Stone Company and then Marion Power Shovel from which he retired from in 1987. He also farmed for many years during this time.

Earl was a member of the American Legion Post #225 of Upper Sandusky. For hobbies he enjoyed woodworking, vegetable and flower gardening and bowling.

Funeral services for Earl W. Stumpp will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with the Rev. Rick Snyder officiating the services. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery where military grave rites will be held by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the Donor's Choice in care of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
