E. Fern Holdcraft

E. Fern Holdcraft, age 88, formerly of Sycamore, Ohio died Wednesday Evening, January 21, 2009 at 6:10 PM at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Fern was born on January 16, 1921 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Elmer G. and Eunice F. (Wynkoop) Scheff, both of whom are deceased. She married Howard E. Holdcraft on April 13, 1941 and he passed away on August 10, 1986.

Fern is survived by a son: Jerry (Paula) Holdcraft of Bucyrus, Ohio, a daughter: Diana Pratt of Carey, Ohio, five grandchildren and, eleven great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Glen Scheff of Nevada, Ohio, Bill Scheff of Springfield, Ohio, and Bob Scheff of Barthow, Florida.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons: Thomas Holdcraft and Douglas Holdcraft, and a brother: John Scheff.

Fern was a homemaker and also worked at Kimmel Cleaners in Upper Sandusky for many years.

Fern was a member of the former Deunquat Lutheran Church and a former member of the Pythian Sister's in Nevada.

For hobbies Fern enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Funeral services for E. Fern Holdcraft will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio. The Rev. Charles Steward will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, Ohio.

Visitations will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM at the Lucas- Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home PO Box 98 Nevada, Ohio 44849.
