Doris R. Rice

Doris R. Rice, age 97 of rural Nevada, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:10am at Marion General Hospital, after a brief illness.

Doris was born on December 22, 1913, to John & Nellie (Brooks) Bibler both of whom are deceased. She married Archie A. Rice in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Doris is survived by her son, Jerry (Maria) Rice of New Paltz, NY and two daughters, Jean (Jack) Roberts of Bucyrus, OH, and Jane (Harvey) Walz of Springfield, MO, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Doris was a homemaker and was a school bus driver for more than fifteen years for the Wyandot School District and also worked for many years at the Fulfillment Corporation in Marion, Ohio.

She was a life member of the Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Brush Ridge, Ohio and lived most of her life at the Bibler Homestead in Brush Ridge.

She was a member of the Treasure Hunters Club, Child Conservation League, and the Harpster Mothers Club for many years.

Funeral services for Doris R. Rice will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Brush Ridge with the Rev. Gene Parker officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge.

Friends may call from 4:30PM - 9:00PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and also from 10:00AM -11:00AM on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Brush Ridge.
