Donald E. Jury, age 72, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away
on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical
Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Don was born in Wyandot, Ohio on November 25, 1936 to Earl A. and Leah Jean A. (Chance) Jury, both of whom are deceased.
He married Helen J. Taylor on June 19, 1957 at the Harpster United Methodist Church, and she survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters, LuAnn (Russell) Lee of Upper Sandusky and Marlene (Charles Jr.) Jones of Nevada. Along with
4 grandchildren, Melissa Lee, Nicholas (Stefanie) Lee, Holly Jones and Tony Jones.
Don is also survived by a brother Ed Jury of Bucyrus and a sister,
Mary (Donald) Ralph of Morral.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Jury.
Don started his career as an accountant for North Electric in Galion and then as an accountant with Honey Creek Provisions. He went on to co-own WPI and WYCORP II and then presently co-owned Eagle Creek with his partner Don Easley.
He was a member of Harpster United Methodist Church and John Stewart United Methodist Church, where he served on the building
committee and at one time sang in the choir.
Don was a life member of the BPOE #83 and also was a member of the Warpole Lodge #176 F&AM, McCutchen Chapter #96 RAM, Upper Sandusky Council #98 R&SM, Marion Commandery #36, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and a 32 Degree mason, Aladdin Temple of the Shrine, Columbus, and Warpole Chapter #366 OES. He was a former council member of the Village of Harpster and for hobbies, Don
enjoyed woodworking.
Funeral services for Donald E. Jury will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at 11:00am at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, October 6, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home
in Upper Sandusky.
Memorials may be made to the John Stewart U.M.C.Building Fund, or The Ram Boosters or a Charity of the Donors Choice.
