Dolores B. Thiel, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on August 13, 1923 to Albert and Susanna (Frey) Kuntz. Dolores was married to Robert Sopher and he passed away, she then married Richard Thiel and he is also deceased.
She is survive by 2 daughter, Ruth Ann Sopher-Stansbery of Upper Sandusky, and Barbara Rose Thiel of Kirby, and 3 sons, Marvin Thiel of Upper Sandusky, Martin Thiel of Upper Sandusky, and Mark (Marlene) Thiel of Carey. 12 grandchildren: Brian, Jason, Pat, Melissa, Travis, Kelle, Margo, Marcia, Luke, Aaron, Ashley, and Keith, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren survive, along with a sister, Donna Thiel of Kirby and a sister in law Martha Thiel of Akron.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl and LeRoy Kuntz, 4 sisters, Mary Jaqueth, Alfrieda Schoffert, Luella Rall and Lillian Kuntz.
Dolores was retired from Worthington Custom Plastics in Upper Sandusky, after 25 years.
She was a life member of Transfiguration of the Lord, St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, along with the Wyandot County Senior Citizens. For hobbies Dolores enjoyed playing cards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby, with the Father Steve Hohman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kirby.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with a Scripture Service to be held at 7:30pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Wyandot County and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
