Dolores Mae Moore, former of Harpster, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Bluebird Assisted Living in London, Ohio.

Dolores was born on September 14, 1930, in Los Angeles. California, to Homer and Grace (Daniel) Wimer.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Dan) Horning of London, and grandson Scott (Priscilla) Horning of Newark.

Dolores graduated from Harpster High School in 1948. She worked at the Daily Chief Union in Upper Sandusky for over 37 years where she was the proofreader, social editor, and wrote the column "Those Were the Days."

Dolores was a long time member of Harpster United Methodist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. She belonged to the former Belles and Boys Mothers Club, and she appeared in several Star Players productions.

A funeral service for Dolores Moore will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Sturgeon. Burial will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 2 hours prior to the service, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Humane Society or Harpster UMC and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
