Dennis W. Sayre, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3:51pm at his home in Harpster, Ohio.

He was born on November 24, 1947 in Logan, Ohio, to Garnett and Lavetta (Miller) Sayre, both of whom are deceased. He married Carmaleda Smith on November 21, 1969 in the Upper Sandusky Church of the Nazerene, and she survives.

Dennis is survived by 3 children; Denise (James Jr) Robertson of Harpster, David Sayre of Upper Sandusky, and Doug (Joy) Sayre of Upper Sandusky. 4 grandchildren, Shileigh and Dylan Robertson, Gabriel and Grace Sayre. A brother, Roger Sayre of Marion, and 2 sisters, Candy Luikart of Upper Sandusky, and Shirley Lamb of Tiffin, along with 2 foster brothers, Robert (Ruth) Sayre of Kenton, and Willie (Rosie) Sayre of Marion, and a foster sister, Nyla Jo Brunty of Morral.

He was preceded in death by a brother Tommy Sayre.

Dennis was a welder for 40 years, having worked at the former Wyandot Vault Company in Upper Sandusky, and retiring from Rex Welding in Marion.

He attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on classic cars, motorcycles, going to flea markets and auctions, and watching westerns on tv.

A graveside service for Dennis W. Sayre will be at 3:00pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Little Sandusky Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or Steps Christian Pre-School at Trinity Evagelical and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
