Dennis A. "Butch" Mundy

Dennis A." Butch" Mundy, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 9:37am at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 4, 1944 in Fostoria, Ohio, to George E. and Dorothy M. (Karcher) Mundy, both of whom are deceased. He married Gloria D. Graham on January 12, 1969 in Upper Sandusky, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Brian A. (Theresa) Mundy of Upper Sandusky and Jason E. (Bridgett) Mundy of Fostoria, six grandchildren: Tori, Josh, Albi, Isabelle, Lili, and Sam, a brother, Tom Mundy of Paulding, and a sister, Sandy Smith of Upper Sandusky, and his dog, Ruby.

Butch was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mundy.

He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1962 and attended Tiffin University for two years. He was a Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A mason by trade, he owned Mundy Masonry in Upper Sandusky, and used those skills on Mission trips to Costa Rica, Bolivia, and Chile.

Butch was a member of Wildwood Chapel in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies, Butch enjoyed playing guitar and golfing. And he loved watching his grandchildren in their extracurricular activities.

Butch will be remembered for his love of people and how he always looked for the good in everyone he met.

Family and friends will be received from 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at theLUCAS-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Upper Sandusky.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at LUCAS-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made in Butch's name to Hospice of Wyandot County in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.
