Debra J. Barth, age 55, of Carey, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio.
Debra was born on June 29, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Ruthanna (Rizor) Barth, both of whom are deceased.
She is survived by a son, Evan William Barth of Carey and 7 brothers, Larry (Joyce) Arnold of Canton, Michigan, Ronald (Judy) Bame of Columbia City, Indiana, Roger (Jane) Bame of Findlay, William (Penny) Barth of Upper Sandusky, G. Christopher (Sheryl) Barth of Westerville, Kevin Barth of Upper Sandusky and Kip (Stacy)Barth of Upper Sandusky. And 3 sisters, Kate Fields of Upper Sandusky, Karen (Bruce) McElroy of Upper Sandusky, Pamela (Jerry) Lawrence of Upper Sandusky. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Debra was a teacher in the Bettsville School System, having taught English from the 6th. grade on up, for many years. She also coached girls softball and volleyball.
Debra graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1976 and went on to Ashland College and received a Bachelor Degree of Education, and then she went on to earn 2 Master Degrees in Education and Counseling from Heidelberg College in Tiffin.
She attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky and was a member of the Ohio Teachers Association, along with being active with the Fort Findlay Playhouse.
For hobbies, Debra enjoyed Road Rally's, doing jigsaw puzzles and going to the beach. She loved her son, and enjoyed being with her brothers and sisters and always looked forward to family reunions. She also thought of her current and former students as part of her extended family.
Funeral services for Debra J. Barth will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, July 28, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and 1 hour before services on Monday.
