Dayna J. Tschantz, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Nevada, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Fairhaven Community
In Upper Sandusky.
Dayna was born on July 24, 1933 in Delaware, Ohio to Charles and Doris (Fuller) Bricker, both of whom are deceased. She married Dr. Richard Tschantz on January 16, 1959 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and he died on September 11, 2006.
Surviving is a son Joel D. (Patty) Tschantz of Toledo, Ohio, and 3 grandchildren, Niklas, Mikenzie, and Danielle Tschantz. A brother, Charles Bricker of Columbus, 2 sister in laws, Jane Bricker and Shirley Bricker, both of Columbus.
Along with a niece, Cheryl Bricker of Los Angeles, California, and 2 nephews, John and Lance Bricker, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, David, Howard, and John.
For eleven years she went to the Galena school but graduated in the first class of the then newly formed Big Walnut High School. After graduation she worked as the secretary to the High School Superintendent at Big Walnut, then at the Sunbury Savings and Loan, in in between going to college at Otterbein. She then worked for 8 years at O.S.U. in the Veterans Affairs Department. It was there that she met her husband Richard, of whom she later helped with his veterinarian practice in Nevada.
She attended Nevada Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Nevada Lioness Club. For hobbies she enjoyed her pets, reading political history and astrology, cooking and always
was one to volunteer for various activities and events in the community.
Dayna dearly loved her family, friends and where she was from, and will be missed.
Visitations for Dayna J. Tschantz will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
Burial will be private and held at a later date at Galena Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, or The Fairhaven Community, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
