David B. Swartz, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025, at his residence.
Dave was born on December 3, 1955, in Upper Sandusky, to Harold B. "Gabby" and Marilyn R. (England) Swartz, both of whom are deceased. He married Juanita Karcher on October 4, 1975, at the Wesley Chapel, and she survives.
He is survived by his children: Jeremy (Bradley Jasmer) Swartz of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janette (Chuck) Craft, and Jennifer (Charles) Young, both of Upper Sandusky. Grandchildren, Jordynn Dennis, Jarred Swartz, Vanessa Craft and Evangelina Craft, and Calista, and great grandchildren, Bryden Swartz-Monroe, Ellie Dennis, and Georgia Swartz.
Dave is also survived by a brother, Russell (Pam) Swartz of Forest, and Irma (Darvan) Schoenberger of Hillsdale, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Gabrielle Swartz, and 2 brothers, Ronald and Terry Swartz.
Dave was a 1974 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and went on to work at Continental Hose, Lite Star, Craycraft, Sammet Trucking, and then working for himself, as the owner and operator of M & H Trucking. After retiring, he worked part-time for Stansbery Feed & Service.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Upper Sandusky, and former Eagles Lodge in Upper Sandusky.
For hobbies Dave enjoyed his daily visit to his friends at McDonalds, riding his motorcycle, cutting firewood, following NASCAR, the Browns, Michigan State, and the Oregon Ducks.
He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, having never met a stranger, and his love of family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services for David B. Swartz will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before services on Saturday, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home. The family requests those in attendance wear casual attire.
