David Wayne Cole, born on November 13, 1982, named after his grandfathers, David W. Cole of Alvada, and Wayne E. Leightey of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at this home in Vanlue.

He was the son of the late Ronald D. Cole of Alvada, and survived by his mother Tina J. Patrick (Leightey), and stepfather, Thomas Patrick of Vanlue.

He survived by his 2 sons, Ryan Sweat of Findlay, and Jayden Cole of Vanlue. Brothers, Derek (Jill) Cole of Alvada, Darin (Katie) Cole of Alvada, and Clint (Chelsea) Patrick of Findlay, and a sister, Stephane (Robert) Brooks of Vanlue. Maternal grandmother, Ann Leightey of Upper Sandusky, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather Wayne E. Leightey, and paternal grandparents, David and Esther Cole.

David was a 2001 graduate of Vanlue High School, where he was active in baseball, basketball, football, and band.

He was a member of the Bethel Church in North Baltimore where he was saved and baptized by Rev. John Kline. As a adult, he became a member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky, as a regular attendee, he loved Sunday mornings with Pastor Jim Stauffer.

His passion was his horses, participating 11 years in 4H with the Lucky Horseshoes and Circle U Riders 4H clubs. He also loved the Hancock and Wyandot County fairs.

For hobbies, David was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the PBR, and NASCAR.

David was diagnosed with a deformed heart valve at the age of 23, and had open heart surgery. 10 years later, he suffered a severe stroke, and another stroke a year ago this April. Thru all of his trials, he kept a great attitude, and was always seen with a smile. His final years have been spent on his Mom & Step Dad's small farm in a little cabin he made home. Where he spent time mowing and enjoying the livestock, and spending time with family.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, community and his church family, of whom he all loved dearly. He is now in the arms of his Savior and will be greatly missed. Until we are all together again!
