Dave Shepherd

June 4, 1942 — January 5, 2018

Dave Shepherd, age 75, of Kenton, Ohio, passed away on January 5, 2018 in the Emergency Room of Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.

Dave was born on June 4, 1942 in McDoll County, West Virginia to Marson and Mero (King) Shepherd, both of whom are deceased.  He was once married to Sue (Evans) Pees of Upper Sandusky.

Surviving are 4 children: Mark (Brittney) Shepherd of Upper Sandusky, Tim (Lisa) Shepherd of Forest, Nichole (Wes) Heilman of Kenton, and Andy (Breigh) Shepherd of Upper Sandusky. 8 grandchilden: Derek Shepherd, Marcus Shepherd, Morgan Shepherd, Jordan Gamble, Gabriel Heilman, Ashton, Braylon and Addelyn Shepherd.  Along with 3 great grandchildren, Aubree Satterfield, Scarlette Shepherd, and Jasper Jolliff, and 5 step grandchildren.

Dave is also survived by 3 brothers, Ed Shepherd of Marseilles, Bill (Lil) Shepherd of Forest, and Herschel Shepherd of Marseilles, and 3 sisters, Jenny (Gary) Holdcraft of Upper Sandusky, Brenda Swavel of Upper Sandusky, and Eva Shepherd of Cincinnati, and a special friend Carol Ward of Kenton.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dan and Arnold, and a sister Mavis.

Dave was a machinist for 30 years with Rockwell International in Kenton.

He attended Marseilles School before enlisting in the United States Army during 1960 to 1966.

For hobbies Dave enjoyed woodworking, singing and playing his guitar, playing corn hole and poker.

He will be remembered by his friendly wave to those passing the house as he sat on the porch, along for his love for his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dave Shepherd will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Kevin Rusk officiating.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Burial will be held on Friday, at 2:00pm at the Chandler Cemetery, Marseilles Ohio, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.
