Darrel D. Park

Darrel Dean Park, age 94, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, after a short illness.

Darrel was born on May 15, 1932, in Marion, Ohio, to Robert D. and Lulu (Carnes) Park, both of whom are deceased. He was first married to Jane Hiatt, who passed away, then married Betty Lou Cramer, and she also passed away.

He is survived by a son, Rob (Kelley) Park of Sycamore, and a daughter, Cindy (Kelly) Reber of Twentynine Palms, California, Sheila Daniel of Upper Sandusky, and Bob (Sarah) Cramer of Findlay. 5 grandchildren: Kyle Walton, Shelby Walton, Cassie (Chase) Kenner, Graham Swihart, and Courtney (Josh) Kurth, along with 7 great grandchildren.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Jane and Betty Lou, 5 brothers, Harold, Wilbur, Clyde, Warren and Raymond Park, and 7 sisters, Florence Weaver, Mildred Donaugh, Mabel Montgomery, Alice Cottrell, Pauline Hotelling, Margaret Hotelling, and Kathleen Landon.

He was a 1950 graduate of Salem High School, and soon after graduation, went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Darrel retired from the shipping department with American Standard in Tiffin, after 20 years, and upon retirement he worked parttime for Doug Walton Auctioneering. Before that, he had owned and operated Parks Cut Rate Drug Store in Sycamore, from 1961 to 1971.

He attended Little Sandusky Bible Church, and was a member of the former Amvets in Upper Sandusky.

Darrel enjoyed buying and caring for his cars and trucks through the years. He enjoyed cooking, and traveling to Amish country.

He will be remembered for his love of our country, and being a man of faith.

Funeral services for Darrel Park will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Eric Park officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
