Darlene P. Guttenberg

Darlene P. Guttenberg, age 77, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 01, 2015 at 1:37pm in the Emergency Room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on August 1, 1937 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Chester and Gladys (May) Smaltz, both of whom are deceased. She married Arthur Guttenberg on September 23, 1956 in Bucyrus, Ohio, and he survives.

Darlene is survived by a daughter, Joy (Tom) Fuller of Helena, Ohio, 2 grandchildren, Valerie (Chad Dillon) Goodman, Krysta (Jordan) Endicott, 2 great grandchildren Jayce and Mason, and 2 step great grandchildren, Jordyn and Jacqui.

She is survived by a brother in law, Paul Woodward of Bucyrus, a niece, Mindy (Gary) Long of Ashland, and 3 great nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey A. Guttenberg, and a sister, Bonnie Woodward.

Darlene was a homemaker and also worked alongside her husband in operating Guttenberg Camper Sales of Nevada for 34 years.

She served on the Wyandot County Historical Board for many years and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida, camping, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

Services for Darlene P. Guttenberg will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery, Nevada Ohio.


Visitations will be held on Monday April 6, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm
at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
