Dale W. Kissling

Dale W. Kissling, age 90, of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Nevada, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:43am in the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Dale was born on January 15, 1919 in Nevada, Ohio to William L. and Lela (Yohe) Kissling both of whom are deceased. He married Martha Jane Creger on May 3, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington, and she survives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Dale is also survived by a son, Roger A.(Trudy) Kissling of Sycamore, Ohio, two daughters, Joyce Arleene Baldosser of Bucyrus, Ohio and Linda (Chris) Cooper of Monnett, Ohio, eight grandchildren, Scott (Sara) Baldosser, Jennifer (Jeremy) Hall, Laura (Doug) Keller, Marcie (Tom) Bay, Kail (Amber) Kissling, Cody, Clay, and Clint Cooper and 12 great grandchildren, Alec, Erin and Avery Baldosser, Amanda, Hannah and Emily Hall, Ashley, Kayla and Allison Keller, Luke, Nick Bay, and Riley Kissling.

Dale is also survived by a sister, Eunice Cover, of Nevada. And a sister in law, Julia Kissling of Nevada and a brother in law, Frank Pry of Galion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth Kissling and Noland Kissling, and four sisters, Phyllis Niederhauser, Jane Bright, Hazel Boehm, and Nova Pry.

Dale retired February 1, 1981 from the maintenance department of the Timken Roller Bearing in Bucyrus after 28 years.

Dale graduated from Nevada High School in the class of 1937. He joined the Army and was with the 125th Radio Intelligence Company and served his country in WWII. He was a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church in Nevada, Ohio for many years and was also a member of the Nevada Legion Post #462 and the former Nevada Senior Citizens.

For hobbies Dale enjoyed woodworking, watching and feeding birds, raising rabbits, squirrel hunting, and vegetable gardening.

Funeral services for Dale Kissling will be held at 11:00am Thursday, October 22, at the
Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Nevada with Gene Luidhardt, SAM, officiating.
Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.

Visitations will be Wednesday, October 21, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
