Dale William Heistand

Dale W. Heistand, age 92, of Nevada, Ohio passed away
Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 4:13pm in the Emergency Room
of Bucyrus Community Hospital in Bucyrus. He had lived his entire
life on the family farm east of Nevada and had just recently spent
the last 5 years at the Inn of Orchard Park in Bucyrus

He was born on March 12, 1918 in Wyandot County to Ray and Gladys
(Bardon) Heistand, both of whom are deceased. He graduated in 1936 from Nevada High School and then went on to attend Ohio Northern University.

Surviving are his children Mary Striebeck of Lubbock, Texas, Cheryl Heistand of Bucyrus, Charlotte A. (Jim) Baker of Plano, Texas and Larry (Sharon) Heistand of Westerville. Also Dale is survived by his grandchildren Angela (Erik) Wirtz of Austin, Texas, David (Brandy) Heistand of Blacklick, Andrea Heistand and her fiancAC. Mitchell Camp of Westerville, Marcos Striebeck of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kassandra and Jeremiah Striebeck of Lubbock and a great grandchild Connor Wirtz of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by a special family friend Theresa Villasana of Bucyrus.

Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a son in law Lutz P. Striebeck.

Dale worked for Cobey Vault Division in Bucyrus Ohio retiring after 18 years. He was a life long member of Nevada Lutheran Church where
he had earlier served as the church superintendent. He was also a 32 degree mason with the Nevada Masonic Lodge #343 F&AM.

For hobbies Dale enjoyed looking for arrowheads on his farm, watching the deer, and sitting on his front porch swing and waving to his neighbors, friends and strangers passing by.

Funeral services for Dale W. Heistand will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, April 8, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada with Gene Luidhardt, SAM, officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
