Clyde "Rick" Hayes, Jr

Clyde "Rik" Hayes, Jr., age54, of Morral and formerly of Caledonia, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 10, at 7:19am in his home surrounded by his family.

Rik was born on October 2, 1953 in Lackey, KY to Clyde Hayes Sr., who is living in Marblehead, Ohio and Freda(Caudill) Hayes, who is deceased.

Rik was married to Sandra (Houk) Hayes on December 14, 1991 in Marion, Ohio and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 sons: Matt Cox of Hilliard and Eric Hays and his fiancee Amy Archer, of Marion. 2 daughters: Angela and her husband Jerry, Mason of Marion and Misty and her husband Robert Sr., Gaffney of Marion. 9 grandchildren along with 4 sisters: Nina and her husband Chuck, Moore of Damascus, Ohio; Linda and her husband Dan, Downs of LaRue; Brenda and her husband Guy, Schertzer of Delaware, OH; Annette and her husband Jeff, Sherman of Marion.

Rik worked security for Whirpool Corp. of Marion, before that he had worked at the Marion Depot for O.M. Scotts and also at Quaker Oats as a forklift operator. He was a veteran of the US Army and attended Marion Harding School.

Rik was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of the Marion Eagles Club. For hobbies Rik enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, following OSU football and in his younger days playing baseball. He enjoyed his boxer dog, Blade and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15 at 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with the Rev. Keith Irey officiating. Burial will take place in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marion General Hospice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
