Clinton E. "Bud" Shearer

Clinton E. "Bud" Shearer, age 74, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:32pm at the Wyandot County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Clint was born on March 7, 1941 in Grayson, Kentucky, to Everett and Dorothy B. "Mam" (Prichard) Shearer, both of whom are deceased. He married Evelyn J. Preston-Shoemaker on June 10, 1995 and she passed away on June 5, 2014.

He is survived by 5 stepchildren; William (Valerie) Brewer of Upper Sandusky, Carol (Layton) Sweitzer of Nevada, Ohio, Brenda Huggins of Upper Sandusky, Debi Shoemaker of Kenton, Ohio, and Richie Shoemaker of Upper Sandusky. 14 step-grandchildren, Billy Joseph Brewer, Crystal (Pat) Randall, Jessica (Cliff) Constien, Zach Morris, Chad (Sandy) Sweitzer, Todd (Laura) Sweitzer, Doug Pollock, Chasity Shoemaker, Wesley Shoemaker, Shaley Clements, Luke (Karson) Shoemaker, Ivy Shoemaker, Coy Shoemaker, Mazzy Shoemaker, and 22 step-great grandchildren.

Clint is also survived by 2 sisters, Mary "Polly" Dyer of Sycamore and June Bowling of Findlay.

Clint retired after 30 years as a custodian for the Upper Sandusky School Systems. He was a 1959 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Upper Sandusky, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He along with his wife, Evelyn, were part of a gospel singing group, along with Becky Ward, Joann Taylor and Lori Frost called Calvary Road, where Clint sang and played guitar.

For hobbies, he enjoyed collecting and tinkering with antique radios, woodworking, where he made gumball machines, picture frames and bird houses, and following the Cincinnati Reds.

He will be remembered by his gentle, generous and loving spirit.

Funeral services for Clinton Shearer will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Gary Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, March 17, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
