Cliff Johns, age 70, of Carey, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021at his home.

Cliff was born on August 18, 1950 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Curtis LeRoy and Hazel (Kissling) Johns, both of whom are deceased.  He married Malinda "Mindy" Caudill on November 18, 1989, and she survives.

Cliff is survived by his 2 children, Mona and Nick, and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Bri Hawkins, Samantha VanHoose, Larhyn Graham, Lily Ross, Hannah Johns, Chandler Ross.  Along with 2 beautiful great grandsons, Brentley and Weylyn VanHoose, and a beloved son in law, Larry Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Lester "Skip" Johns, Patrick "Pat" Johns, and Steve Johns, and 2 sisters, Betty Noggle, and Gwendolyn Johns.

Cliff was retired as a machinist from Arvin-Meritor in Kenton.  After retiring, he also worked as a seasonal worker for FedEx in South Carolina, and drove truck for ESS Delivery in Findlay.  Cliff also drove a charter bus for Buckeye Charter Service in Lima.

He was a member of the Elks Club - BPOE #83 and the Amvets #777, both in Upper Sandusky, along with the New Riegel Moose Lodge #872.

For hobbies, Cliff was an avid golfer, and will be remembered as the "Comeback Kid" after being able to golf again after major surgery and playing on the winning team in the Elks Classic in 2018, and also scored his first hole in one on April of 2019 at Hidden Valley Golf Course, Gaston, SC. He also had a passion for softball, when he played in Upper Sandusky at the park with various teams, and then coaching, especially coaching girls' softball in his later years.

A memorial service for Cliff Johns will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Dennis Croy officiating.

Visitations will be held on Friday, January 29, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to CMJ Adventures to establish a ministry to help families caring for loved ones during their final days.  Memorials can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
