Clarence W. "Chuck" Hightower

Clarence W. "Chuck" Hightower, age 60, of Nevada, and formerly of Marion, Ohio, was promoted to Heaven, on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Chuck was born on June 8, 1961 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Clarence W. Sr., and Katherine (Johnson) Gundy, both of whom are deceased.  He married Missy Barker on August 25, 1997, and she survives.

He is survived by four children, Brandon Dible of Upper Sandusky, Taylor (Jordan) Greene of Richwood, Megan Dible of Nevada, and Trey Hightower of Bucyrus, along with three grandchildren, Ayden Greene, and Xavier and Niko Meeks, and also one granddaughter on the way.

Chuck is also survived by two brothers, Harold Hightower of Mansfield, David Hightower of Bucyrus, two sisters, Vicki (Darrell) Howard of Marion, and MaryAnn Cook of Indiana, along with a stepbrother, Hardwick Gundy of Marion, along with

Brother in law Jess (Jennifer) Barker, and mother and father in law, Pat (Dave) Tennihill. And many aunts, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Along with his "adopted son" Kyle Campbell of Nevada and His family, of whom Chuck adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Woody and Gene.

After graduating in 1979 from Marion Harding High School, Chuck started with Whirlpool in Marion until he had to retired in 2012 due to medical reasons.

Chuck was at one time an avid hunter and golfer.  His favorite hobby was fishing, and spent many a day fishing at the Rod & Gun Club, where he had served as president, vice president, and was very active with anything that had to do with the club.  He loved to cook and was noted for his BBQ and his way on the grill.

Other activities that Chuck loved and was well known for was softball and bowling, of which he won many trophies, and rings for his three 300 games.  He had a love for the game and a love for kids.  Chuck spent 5 years coaching minor and little league baseball in Nevada, along with coaching kids to sharpen their bowling skills.

Chuck was also a giver and if he thought a child did not have what they needed to play a sport, he gave it to them, whether it be his time, or a monetary need.

Chuck had a lot of loves, but his first was to love God, and then his family

Funeral services for Chuck Hightower will be at 11:00am Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Dan Rebon officiating.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 20, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

The family has asked that masks be worn for both the visitation and funeral, and discourages children to be in attendance.
