Charles Lee Mosman

Charles Lee Mosman, age 77, of rural Nevada, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 05, 2010 at 9:45am at his home.

He was born on February 24, 1933 in Eden Township, Wyandot County to Lloyd Scott and Hazel Mary (Snavely) Mosman, both of whom are deceased. Charles married Jacqueline Reber on April 25, 1954 at the former St. John's Evangelical Reformed Church in Bucyrus, and she survives.

Also surviving is a son, James Bryan and daughter in law Lynne, Mosman of Franklin, Tennessee and a daughter Debra Kay Mosman and her life partner Dwan Holmes of Powell, Ohio.
Two granddaughters, Brittaney Mosman of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Elissa Mosman of Auburn, Alabama, along with his twin sister Alice King of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his brother Glen Robert Mosman and sisters Helen Margraf and Catherine West-Walton.

Charles retired as plant manager after 39 years from A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky. He started with the company when it was Westinghouse in 1955 as a lathe operator, then to mechanical and electrical setup and working his way to a supervisor position then to operations manager and finally to the plant manager position.

Charles attended for 11 years Eden School and his last year in Nevada High School graduating with the class of 1951. He went on to serve in the US Army having trained with the 101st. Airborne and was sent to Korea with the 45th. Infantry Division and served along the front lines during the war. He was later awarded Three Bronze Stars, Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Medal.

He was a life member of the Eden Chapel -United Methodist Church in rural Nevada, where he filled many positions within the church. He was a former member of the Ohio American Legion.

Charles enjoyed in his younger years hunting and later in life just being outside, whether it was working in the woods, cutting wood or just mowing the yard. He also
had a love for automobiles, which probably started in high school when he worked part time selling Studebaker's and later in life working at Crow Motor Sales in Upper Sandusky.


Funeral services for Charles Lee Mosman will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Eden Chapel -UMC in rural Nevada with the Rev. Ralph Krall and Rev. Brandon Keck officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery where military graveside rites will conducted.

Visitations will be held on Monday, November 8, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and also 1 hour before service time at the church on Tuesday.
